Summer Series 2018 No 2 - Donadea Forest Park

The series continues, this time with a run around the mostly flat forest in Donadea. A maze of small trails offer fast running, but there are plenty of little tricky earth features in the woods to keep you on your toes.

Start Times from 18:00 to 19:30.

There will be three courses on offer, suitable for all abilities:

* Adventure Course (2.9km)
* Medium Course (4.7km)
* Long Course (7.2km)

Entry fees are as follows:

* Child/Student/Unwaged/OAP €5 (€4 for CNOC members)
* Adult €8 (€7 for CNOC members)
* Family €20. (€15 for CNOC members)

If you need to hire an SI card, we also rent them for €2, to be returned at the finish. Lost cards cost €40 to replace!

If you're not a member of a club, and would like to join CNOC on the night, we're offering free membership for the first year (its only €7 a year per adult after that anyways - full rates on cnoc.ie)

If you are planning on bringing a group, it would be useful to contact us ahead of time, so we can ensure we print enough maps, etc. We also offer a discounted rate for pre-booked youth groups - message us for details.

Car parking is in the main forest car park - the forest entrance barrier will be open from 17:00 to 19:00 to facilitate free entry for those attending the event. The barrier closes automatically at 21:00, so courses will close strictly by 20:30 to enable us to get out in time.

Since the series has five events this year, your best three results will count towards league placings. Similarly, juniors who take part in any three events will get a small token at the prizegiving following the last event on 19th June.

Donadea "Come-and-Try-It" Event - 21st Jan

We are hosting an event in Donadea Forest Park on 21st Jan, so why not pop along and join in - whether you are giving orienteering a go for the first time, or stretching those legs after the Xmas holidays (with the Leinster Champs looming).

Regarding courses, Eileen has planned something suitable for all - young and old, beginners to experienced.

* Long Course (7.5km - Experienced Orienteers)
* Medium Course (5km - Improving Orienteers)
* Short Course (3km - Beginners or Families)
* Nature Trail (1.5km - Children or Families)

* €8 for an Adult
* €20 for a Family (2 adults + kids)

Start times available from 11am to 1pm, with courses closing at 3pm.

SI cards will be used, and electronic timing. If you need to rent an SI card, we will have a stock available at the registration (€2 rental fee)
